考察站设计充分考虑建站位置的环境条件特点，需要有易于施工、使用便捷与节能、安全运行、具有可靠智能等功能；按照功能不同合理布局，采取集中与分散相结合的方式，将功能接近的建筑在可能的条件下合并集中，减少工作人员外出，也形成较好的节能体型。建筑造型灵感来自现场满地的磨圆砾石，分散的单体立面造型神似砾石轮廓，与背景基岩浑然一体。建筑长边顺风摆放，减少迎风面。流线型外观，减少风阻，减少屋顶积雪。
